Clay Aiken trashes "American Idol" and Adam Lambert
Looks like Clay Aiken may have some sour grapes following his removal from the "American Idol" set last week, when he tried to meet Adam Lambert and discuss a possible duet.
An alert reader sent Gawker the text of Clay Aiken answering reader questions on his blog. An excerpt:
"I couldn't be happier about the way AI ended this year. I only turn the show on once a season, and only to see what the set looks like each year. This year, I happened to turn it during the minute that Adam Lambert was singing 'Ring of Fire' and, at that moment, thought my ears would bleed. Contrived, awful, and slightly frightening! I wasn't really a fan and found myself surprised whenever folks told me that they liked him."
There is a whole lot more to the blog post, so head on over to Gawker to check out the full text.
Two things:
First, I could not care less if Clay Aiken does or does not like Adam Lambert. However, it seems awfully coincidental that these are his sentiments just a week after trying to meet with Adam and discuss working together, only to be, basically, thrown out of the "American Idol" studio.
Secondly, to the alert reader who sent the tip to Gawker: you pay $29.95 a year to have access to blog posts and a message board on Clay Aiken's website? Really?
UPDATED: There is no word that the tip came from Clay Aiken's alleged stalker John Paulus. Paulus posted the story on his personal blog before Gawker, but that doesn't necessarily make him the tipster.
Secondly, the story about Clay being removed from the Idol set that I linked to above is not from the National Enquirer, it's from the Chicago Sun-Times and has quotes from an Idol staff member.

Clay did not get thrown off the Idol set. It didn't happen. Doesn't this statement by Clay prove that? He didn't trash Adam. He said he didn't care for his style of performing. Why would he want to tour with someone so different from him? Your whole article doesn't make any sense.
I agree with Jennifer. Clay did not trash Adam he simply didn't care for Adam's singing in the one song he heard. Obviously he wouldn't want to tour with him.
The person who gave Clay's private blog to Gawker has been stalking Clay for years. He gets his jollies by causing trouble for Clay. He may be arrested one day for getting too close.
Stay positive no matter what, but not in denial.
BTW, the story that Clay was thrown off the AI set is not true. Justin Guarini was there and said it didn't happen. National Enquirer made up that story after seeing a twitter that Clay was in that area with his son.
They will go to any lengths to cause trouble.
Journalistic standards are, quite simply, non-existent.
Andrea, you are one of the many unwashed fame*****s who regurgitates the smegma that is copied/pasted without any verified sources, in your craptastic attempt to be all that and a bag of chips.
You'd better serve the American public by getting a job at Walmart, stocking the cat food aisle.
A p***ing acquaintance with FACTS and INTEGRITY would also benefit your little self-important world.

I didn't like Adam's Ring of Fire either. Idol went way overboard in promoting one guy over everyone else in the competition. I think that's Aiken's point, moreso than how he felt about one song by one singer.
The AI producers didn't allow Clay to meet up with Adam.
kielbasa dude calm down man, Andrea is very talented, have you ever read any of her Idol recaps? I would resort to name calling, however, I have little to much self respect. If you dont like it dont read it
Clay did not like Adams one performance, the only one he heard. He acknowledged there are some who thought Adam was great, that it is all a matter of taste. He does not like the way AI pimps the chosen contestants, something that is apparent even for those who don't watch the show. The Nat Enquirer is not a legitimate source. There is nothing wrong with stating an opinion. WTG Clay.
