'American Idol' Disco Week Wish List

I'll be upfront with you guys: I hate Disco Week on "American Idol." I think it is ridiculous to make the contestants sing disco. They aren't disco artists! But Andrea, you say, they do country week and they aren't country artists! This is true, but country is still alive and well as a musical genre, whether you like it or not. Disco is dead, folks. Stop making them sing it!

I feel so much better now. But I still can't get too excited about what are most likely going to be trainwrecks happening tonight. Here is my wish list:

Lil Rounds
She knows she's in trouble so she busts out the tried and true "I Will Survive" by Gloria Gaynor. Maybe the sheer popularity of the song will win her some votes.

Matt Giraud
Maybe Matt will take his bleaty voice and put it to the strains of "Super Freak" by Rick James (bitch). Can't you just see him rocking out to, "She's a very freaky girl. The kind you don't take home to mother" and dancing all around the stage?  I can see that.

Danny Gokey
You just know Danny is going to bust out all his cheesy goodness with "Disco Inferno." I can just see him doing a three-step turn to the "burn, baby, burn" part.

Adam Lambert
He *has* to do "Stayin' Alive," right? He's the only singer who I think will actually shine on disco week. He has to do the ultimate smooth-guy, wide-collar, struttin-in-my-boots song.

Anoop Desai
I'm ready to see spazzy, up-tempo Anoop back and for that I would like to see one of my guilty pleasure disco songs, "Rock the Boat" by the Hues Corporation. I cannot explain why I like this cheesefest of a song (I mean, seriously... "our love is like a ship on the ocean, sailing with a cargo full of love and devotion?") but I just do.

Kris Allen
I'd like to see the resident cutie-patootie do "September" by Earth, Wind and Fire. He's got a decent enough falsetto to pull it off.

Allison Iraheta
I honestly don't even know what to pick for this girl this week. I think her big vocals could really shine on "It's Raining Men," but she might be too cute to pull that song off. Plus, it reminds me of Kathleen Turner as Chandler's dad on "Friends."
