'American Idol' Motown Week Wish List
I love Motown. What a great catalog of songs from which to choose your piece. Below are your humble recapper's picks for "American Idol" Motown Week. I think there could be some great performances. So, in no particular order, here are my picks for Motown Week.
Michael Sarver
Should sing: Ain't Too Proud to Beg
Will sing: Signed, Sealed, Delivered
I don't really care that much what he sings because he should be going home. But if I could pick his song, I would pick something upbeat and fun, but not as manic as his Country Week choice. Unfortunately, I fear that he'll pick something cheezy and over-done, like "Signed, Sealed, Delivered."
Megan Joy
Should sing: You Keep Me Hanging On
Will sing: My Guy
I can really see Megan tanking on this one. I think she could do something with "You Keep Me Hanging On," but I can see her picking something safe and boring like "My Guy.
Anoop Desai
Should sing: Ain't Nothin' Like the Real Thing Baby
Will sing: All Night Long or Part-Time Lover
I can really see Anoop reverting to form and picking something fast and crazy that doesn't show off his vocals at all. We're talking Kevin Covais-levels of cringiness.
Allison Iraheta
Should sing: Heat Wave
Will sing: Dancing in the Streets
"Dancing in the Streets" seems like a good up-beat song but it's actually pretty repetitive and boring. I think Allison could kill a song like "Heat Wave."
Kris Allen
Should sing: I Can't Help Myself (Sugar Pie, Honey Bunch)
Will sing: My Girl
Kris needs to break out of his cute-guy-ballad-Anthony-Fedorov box. I think "Sugar Pie" could be great, but I fear he'll stick to something safe and schmoopy like "My Girl."
Lil Rounds
Should sing: Shop Around
Will sing: I Hear a Symphony
I think Lil needs to stick with upbeat, R&B turns on songs. Hopefully she doesn't go the boring Supremes route.
Scott McIntyre
Should sing: Super Freak
Will sing: Same Old Song
The pick of "Same Old Song" is a choice I mean both literally and figuratively. I'd love to see him just go totally outside the box and sing something like "Super Freak."
Matt Giraud
Should sing: Papa Was a Rolling Stone
Will sing: I Heard it Through the Grapevine
I feel like Matt will go for a safer, more well-known choice like "Grapevine," but I think he could really tear it up on "Papa Was a Rolling Stone."
Danny Gokey
Should sing: Let's Get it On
Will sing: You Are the Sunshine of My Life or Tears of a Clown or Isn't She Lovely
You just KNOW he's going to pick something schmoopy but I'd really like to see him just go all sex pot this week and sing "Let's Get it On."
Adam Lambert
Should sing: Bernadette
Will sing: some effed-up version of Superstition
You know I'm right about what he will sing. But I think Adam could rein it in a little and still "express himself" on "Bernadette."
Adam Lambert is by far the most polished and seasoned singer in the history of Idol. I am only watching to see him perform.
Everyone else can go home. Adam Lambert stands alone, hands down, in this competition.
I'm sorry, but Adam creeps me out. Amazing vocal skill, yes. But he seems cold and a little too calculating. He needs to get out from under the overly-coiffed hair and goth costumes and let people hear him sing with some genuine emotion.
I'd like to see Adam do the Temptations' "I'm Losin' You" a la Rod Stewart's cover of the song, but I can totally see him doing "Respect" by Aretha. Whatever he does, I'll love it. He's the only one worth watching this year. The rest are boring.
Matt Giraud is the cl*** act on Idol this year.
This soulful singer should do quite well this week, but he will need to make "soulful" a ****e and not the main course.
I'm sure if he goes deep enough into the competition we are bound to hear "Georgia On My Mind" in its entirety at some point....and not just a little 'blip'.

Adam Lambert has the best voice of any contestant they've ever had on American Idol. He's amazing!
Adam could sing washpowder-jingles and he would be brilliant and turn them around in his unique form.There s nobody who should put him in danger to take the crown this season.

Bernadette?Four tops?Que horror!
But Adam can sing washpowderjingles and still deliver a bomb.Theres nobody like him this year or ever before.Amazing vocals in a cute guy who knows how to catch the attention and work the crowds.
