Jennifer Hudson to sing National Anthem

The NFL confirmed yesterday that former American Idol contestant and Oscar-winner Jennifer Hudson will sing the National Anthem at Super Bowl XLIII.

This will be Jennifer Hudson's first public appearance since the brutal and tragic slayings of her mother Darnell Hudson Donerson, brother Jason Hudson and 7 year-old nephew Julian King in October.

I'm sure it will be extremely moving and I applaud her for picking such a grand stage and such a meaningful song to try to step back into the public eye and help the healing process along.  I'm sure thoughts and prayers from Idol fans have been headed her way since the tragedy and I am looking forward to supporting her during the Super Bowl.
